Survey, Excavation and Museum Works

Members of the department's academic staff conduct and participate in field surveys, excavations, and museum studies. In the course of this work, attention is given not only to epigraphic material but also to the history and historical geography of the relevant region or settlement as reconstructed from ancient sources. A significant portion of the inscriptions recovered through ongoing research across many parts of Turkey are studied and prepared for scholarly publication by members of the department.
